Family and Matrimonial

Max Engel has had a Family and Matrimonial Department for more than 50 years. Since the late eighties Richard Adamson has headed the department and is now assisted by Claire Morgan.

All forms of divorce proceedings and associated finance for both adults and children are covered, together with disputes between unmarried couples, and also all aspects of child law, with the exception of public care proceedings. The firm has successfully represented clients at all levels including a successful outcome in a leading case in the Court of Appeal.

The firm subscribes to the ideals of the Solicitors Family Law Association and full use is made of “tried and tested” mediation services.

Our aim is to provide a complete and confidential service for our clients utilising a caring and sympathetic approach, backed up by vigorous representation as and when needed.

No public funding work is undertaken, but, on request, the firm will consider budget plans to meet fees in a supportive and realistic way.
